Welcome aboard TinkerHull!
As a boat owner, I’ve learnt that keeping a vessel afloat isn’t always smooth sailing. Over the years, I’ve relied on advice from friends, fellow boaters, and countless late-night searches online. Now, I want to give back — by sharing my own wins (and missteps) as I tinker, repair, and improve my boat.
Who Am I?
I’ve grown up around boats since childhood — a passion that was either imparted to me… or perhaps a condition I was infected with!
While many people associate boating with high prices, expense, and luxury, my experiences have been much more modest. Among the boat owners I know, it’s often about making do with the tools and resources at hand, fixing what breaks, and finding clever solutions without breaking the bank.
That’s the world I know best — and the one I’ll be sharing here.
What This Blog Will Cover
Here on TinkerHull, I’ll be documenting:
- DIY repairs and fixes on my boat
- Upgrades and engineering hacks
- Lessons learned the hard way
- Budget-friendly tips and clever tricks
Whether it’s a small repair that saves hours of frustration or a project that turns out spectacularly, I’ll share it all — including the mistakes!
Why I’m Sharing
I know the value of honest, hands-on advice. Sometimes the smallest tip saves hours of frustration (or a lot of money at the marina!). My hope is that by documenting my own experiences — both successes and failures — this blog will be a useful port of call for other boat owners out there.
Let’s Set Sail
So, let the voyage begin! I’ll be posting regularly, and I’d love for you to join me on this journey. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or just starting out, I hope you’ll find something here to inspire your own tinkering afloat.
Drop a comment below and let me know what kind of boat projects you’d like me to cover!
